WOYC- Community in Action

The Week of the Young Child is a community event for children, parent's, educator's and others who are interested in helping children throughout the community. Vendor's, entertainers, children, and all who have a passion for making a difference attend this four hour event. San Jacinto College in San Jacinto welcomed this event last Saturday, April 17, 2010. It a wonderful day. Our booth, created for promoting eating healthy turned out really amazing.  Tiffiny, Maureen, and I actually put our ideas and preparation for this event into action within one week. We went from store to store in search of donations for our booth. We gathered fliers, seeds and other needed supplies and we created a wonderful booth for promoting healthy nutrition. Henry's in Hemet was our biggest donor. They were the first to be asked and the first to say yes. We are thankful to all of those who choose to participate in our cause for promoting a healthy and nutritious diet for children and their families. We believe that it is necessary to teach our children, as well as, ourselves how to become healthier. The three of us hope to spread awareness of eating healthy and why it is vital to our growing children to live healthy lives....
